CFP is going DIGITAL!

This fall, August of 2012, we will launch our new digital learning platform! What is a digital learning platform? It is a blended learning environment that combines a teacher with digital technology. A blended learning environment replaces the old model of learning with fluid, flexible, and exciting curriculum.

Who will use this digital learning platform? All of our classes in grades 1 – 12 will be taught using this technology. This is an exciting transition for our traditionally styled grades 1 – 12; however, nothing can replace the beauty of Montessori, nor does digital technology blend well with that curriculum. Our pre-kindergarten and kindergarten classes will continue to be a Montessori program; there is no better program for those students.

This is NOT a virtual school or virtual learning environment. It is a blended environment that combines the knowledge and experience of a teacher with the digital technology our students crave.

This learning platform offers full digital courseware, so . . . no more textbooks! All of our textbooks will be completely digital and web-based. Students can access these textbooks from any computer. Student planners will also be completely digital; teachers will go onto their course dashboards and enter the homework. The assignments will appear on each individual student calendar.

All of our grade 1 – 12 students will have laptops next year. Parents will have to sign a contract to be responsible for damage, or students may use their own laptops.

The curriculum has interactive web-based content, teacher customized content, and real time reporting on student progress. You will always know exactly how your child is progressing. You will also find your communication with teachers is much improved.

The curriculum includes concept mapping, games, videos, virtual science labs, virtual language labs, and more.

High school courses include honors courses and AP courses. Live tutoring videos are also a part of this system and can be accessed from home at any time.

Training and support is provided for parents and students. There is also a live help desk available seven days a week from 7:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M.
